WHY IS IT CALLED THE PLUS ONE PROJECT?

The Plus One Project is about transforming the world through action and making global issues personal. ONE person PLUS ONE action is where it begins.

The Plus One Project was inspired by the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. There’s an image for each of the eight goals PLUS ONE additional poster. The ninth poster is the essence of every goal, it’s called “Love Each Other.”

WHO DOES THE PLUS ONE PROJECT SUPPORT WITH ITS 15% CONTRIBUTION OF PROCEEDS?

The Plus One Project contributes to these two organizations:

• EPISCOPAL RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT (ERD)

Episcopal Relief & Development is an international relief and development agency and a compassionate response to human suffering on behalf of the Episcopal Church of the United States. Their work to heal a hurting world is guided by the principles of compassion, dignity and generosity. The Plus One Project is impressed by ERD’s commitment to the MDGs and how 90% of every dollar goes directly to projects in the field.

• OREGON FOOD BANK

At a more local level, the Plus One Project supports the Oregon Food Bank. We appreciate the Oregon Food Bank’s passion for the people they serve and the organization’s emphasis on providing an understanding about hunger. The Oregon Food Bank successfully advocates to overcome hunger and empowers individuals by using a holistic approach that involves dignity and leads to change.

WHY BIRDS?

I’m still not sure why birds appeared on the page but frankly, they’re kind of fun to draw.
